Just a few weeks ago, Oprah was standing on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. Today, that same space has been transformed into a spatial exhibit called Mirazozo by Architects of Air, a maze-like inflatable structure in Sydney until January 27th.
I don’t know about you, but I often wish I was the proper age (and weight) to play in a jumping castle. Well, this is about the closest you can get. Mirazozo is an adult’s (and children, of course) playground and we had a chance to enjoy it as an after-work field trip.
With twenty minute time slots one can wander and explore the different spaces. From the Airlock to the Green Dome, Red Dome, Centre Dome, Blue Dome, and the Tree, different spaces emerge as one wanders and discovers. The structure sways back and forth with the wind, as the natural light produces varying intensities through the different colored skins.
I definitely recommend it, if you are in town. It’s a good time and afterwards you can grab a drink at the Opera House and watch the sunset over the Harbour Bridge. We walked by the exhibition on our way home and, for a minute there, thought the exhibit had disappeared (or that we had too much to drink) but quickly realized it had been deflated (which they do every night), sitting flat on the Opera House Forecourt (phew).
Not a bad way to end a work week…
