Americans like a good “drive thru.” Although not common in NYC, when we are in California, we always notice the array of drive-thru options: from the drive-thru pharmacy to the drive-thru ATM... When we were in LA, we hit the drive-thru Starbucks a few times (which was kind of fun). We laughed as we drove our massive SUV car rental (which we did not order but was very fitting) through Starbucks, ordering supersized coffees. I was especially happy to have iced coffee, something that is hard to find in Australia (well, without ice cream and cream, as I have previously complained about)...
The only drive-thru I have really seen in Australia (besides fast food) is the bottle shop (aka liquor store). Not surprising for the Aussies!
